• Capt. Harald Buser (far right) and his pirates!

We are Harald Buser and Carla Cavallaro, and our destinies were instantly intertwined when we met while sailing Aruba’s tranquil waters. I am a native of Amsterdam, and my wife Carla is a true Bostonian. We fell “overboard in love” and decided to make our dreams come true. We moved to Aruba, bought a sailboat and resolved to spend the rest of our lives together.

Since we both share a fascination for wooden ships, we decided to share this passion with the countless visitors here in Aruba. We are determined to offer “the most amazing sailing tours” here in the Caribbean, and our love of sailing, as well as our experience, has made us the most sought-after tour operating company off the coast of Aruba.

Jolly Pirates Aruba

There’s something about the Caribbean that visitors can never quite forget. The island of Aruba, in particular, is continuously a destination of choice for those who seek the ultimate getaway. So, when they feel that all-too-familiar urge to escape, they choose Aruba where Jolly Pirates awaits.

1_1Operating since 1997, Jolly Pirates is located in MooMba Beach, Aruba. The company prides itself in providing a variety of experiences while sailing on the island’s glorious waters. Harald and Carla’s exquisitely-crafted wooden ship was appropriately christened “Aruba’s Jolly Pirate Ship,” and is now captained by modern day pirates. This magnificent gaff-rigged sailing yacht was born off the coast of Bahia, Brazil, on the island of Itaparica. According to Captain Harald, their 85-foot Brazilian beauty makes every moment on board “as memorable for our guests as it is for us.”

The personal treatment at Jolly Pirates begins with guests being greeted on the beach by Harald, Carla and their son Tyler in tow. Once guests are on board, the high-energy crew welcomes friends, both old and new, by doing back flips, literally, spreading an infectious sense of fun. Then, guests are taken on an incredible journey and offered a glimpse of the sensational Caribbean marine life through diving, snorkeling, and evening swimming and swinging with pirates.

Traveler Reviews on the Web

"We walked the plank and drank "pirate's brew" aboard the half-day sailing cruise on the high seas. The captains dropped us off at three locations to snorkel: coves, a sunken shipwreck (The Antilla), and along the coral reef. Depending on your skill level and whether or not you had snorkeled before, there was a spot for everyone...

"Overall, it was an amazing first snorkeling experience for my husband and I. I had done research online prior to going for the best snorkeling cruise with entertainment, and booked our reservation online before arriving to receive a discount for early reservation..."

Carmen_review2 "... Boca Cantalina, it was again calm, clear water... we swam toward the rocky edge of the beach and found the best snorkeling on the trip. There was a reef growth around the rocks, with many, many fish – who seemed not to be afraid of us. As a matter of fact, we were the curiosity here. Many of the butterfly fish would follow us around and came very close! I’m so glad I passed on the rope swing and chose the snorkel option instead!

" I would highly recommend a Jolly Pirates cruise to anyone in Aruba."Carmen_review3
